Conditions for sport Our town is famous for its contribution of the development of a number of sports with national significance: weightlifting, boxing, wrestling, track–and-field athletics, soccer, alpinism etc. There 32 sports clubs here. Sliven has a couple of multi-function sport halls(volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, judo, acrobatics), sheltered track–and-field athletics path, 10 outdoor tennis courts, a cycling track, a stadium, fitness centers and a rehabilitation and sport medicine centre Four of the sport halls (weightlifting hall, judo hall, wrestling hall, boxing hall) are included as “Athens 2004” pre-Olympics training halls. They are on the list of the Bulgarian-Greek information centre for foreign national terms training. The mountains near Sliven are very attractive for Bulgarian and European car racing. |
