The conditions are extremely suitable for the development of fruit culture (especially for growing peaches and cherries), growing of grapevines, vegetable growing, the growing of sunflower and corn, as well as the development of stock-breeding. The National Institute of Peaches and the Centre for the selection and reproduction of stock-breeding (where the stock-breeding gene bank of stock of Bulgaria is kept) are both located in Sliven.
