Young people in Sliven have the opportunity to receive education in thirty different schools, among which are: a foreign language school, a high school of mathematics and science, a high school of humanities, 7 professional high schools (of textile, of construction, of social nutrition, of economics, of electrical engineering and mechanics, of chemical technologies, of transport and mechanical engineering).

More than 2300 students pursue their higher education in the town – in the Engineering and pedagogical faculty – an annex of the Technical University of Sofia, the Technical College, the College of Medicine, the Free University of Bourgas (education in Sliven), the Educational Centre with the University of Veliko Tarnovo, the Local Centre for Distance Study with the Technical University of Varna.
