Several important projects have been implemented successfully in the library since 1993 until nowadays: |
| Ø 1993 – 2001 - “Open Society” Foundation funded seven projects – for buying literature, computer equipment, a copying machine etc.; |
| Ø 1993 – 2002 – Eleven projects, sponsored by the “Open society” club – Sliven - seven projects for buying valuable books for the Library, two projects for printing library’s editions, for buying sound-recording equipment, a TV set and a video player for the centre, helping English learning process; |
| Ø 1996 - A project “Sliven-Tornhaim” in co-operation with the Tornheim University of Tornhaim /Norway/ - for buying computer equipment and supplying a free Internet access; |
| Ø 1998 – A National seminar “Programmes of the European Union in the field of culture” in cooperation with the Ministry of culture (with the participation of foreign experts/; |
| Ø 1999 –A project “Training of library specialists and users in work with the new informative technologies for electronic documentation” /CD-ROM, Internet/ sponsored by PHARE programme BG9606; |
| Ø 1999 – A project for a computer training in the new informative technologies, sponsored by the American foundation “Charles Stuart Mott” /USA/; |
| Ø 1999 – A project “A Millennium Everyman’s Library” /sponsored by the Embassy of Great Britain and the British council/; |
| Ø 2000 – A project “Integration of gypsy children by using non- traditional forms for attracting their interest in books and reading”, sponsored by the American foundation “Charles Stuart Mott” /USA/; |
| Ø 2001 – 2002 – A project “Multi-cultural integration of foreigners and the role of the European libraries”/, sponsored by the EU, in co-operation with partners from Germany, Holland, Finland and Greece/; |
| Ø 2003 – 2004 – A project “European Union through children’s eyes”, sponsored by the EU / in partnership with the libraries in Pecs, Hungary and Dunaiska sreda, Slovakia./; |
| Ø 2003 – 2005 – A project in cooperation with the Institute for international cooperation at the German national universities association /Hanover, Germany/ for training and obtaining an European computer passport “X-pert”, “X pert Master”; |
| Ø 2005 – Opening a regional Eurodesk centre in the library on “Youth” program of the EU /a continuing project /; |
| Ø 2005 - A project “European Union through children’s eyes” –a project on the Bulgarian Communicative strategy for joining the EU, carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of culture; |
