PRESENTATION OF BOOKS OF SLIVEN WRITERS OF 2005

Books of Sliven writers of 2005 were presented in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library on 15th February 2006. The event was organized for ninth year and attracted the great interest of the audience as the aim of the organizers was not to analyze critically the books in their depth but to mark their presence as factors in literature; to show the variety of literature genres and to show respect to Sliven authors and their works.

Fifty three books from Sliven writers-poetry, prose, children’s literature, literature inquiries, research works, theological literature and 12 specialized editions – symposiums, handbooks, bibliographies, chronicles etc. were published in 2005. Poetry too largest part - 32, then follows the prose – 18 and 5 valuable bibliographies. Dimitar Bechev – a literature critic- presented the books in “Prose” section and the poet Tenko Tenev presented the books in “Poetry” section. Rositsa Petrova-Vasileva – a director of “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library - announced a short report about the specialized editions. The library rewarded for fourth time its "Donor of the year-2005" yearly prize to Vladimir and Velichko Velichkovi brothers, who donated to the library 812 books – specialized literature and fiction.

The Right Reverend Sliven metropolitan bishop Joanikii was one of the guests of the event.
