“Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library presents for

an eight year in a row books of Sliven writers

Books of Sliven writers, published in 2004 were presented on February 11, 2005 in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library. Authors, literature critics and readers met to exchange opinions and impressions from the new books in Reading-room N 1 of the library.

More then 15 are the books of poetry, consisting of love poetry, satiric poetry and poems for children, medleys. Young Sliven authors work along with the eminent poets and this are happy news. The volume of poetry “With a feather of a Lark” of the 13 years old Sliven poetesse Kamelia Tsankova was presented on the meeting posthumously.

Very interesting are books of prose – fiction, historical-ethnographical research works and studies of Sliven journalism and history of volleyball in Sliven. Large part of the books were published by Sliven and Yambol publishing houses and some of them – by Sofia publishing houses.

Speakers were Tenko Tenev – a poet, a chairman of the Yambol writers’ association and Dimitar Bechev – a literature critic and a director of the “Georgi Rakovski” Yambol regional library. Thirty five books were presented totally. Special guest of the meeting was the Right Reverend Sliven Metropolitan Bishop Joanikii.

“Donor of the year” award of the Sliven library has been rewarded for the third year in row. Stefka Mandadjieva was the winner of the award for 2004 as she donated more than 800 books of value.
