Open doors day in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library

Hundreds of children from Sliven read and drew in the halls of „Sava Dobroplodni” regional library in the Open doors day – May 14, 2009. The initiative was a part of the library’s program during the National library’s week –May, 11 – 15, which was held under the motto „Library – information and communication for everyone!” “An Excursion in the library” was organized for the little children who visited the library for the first time. Interesting collections of book were presented to pupils from the first forms from Sliven who visited the library. Quizzes were organized and held in Children’ department and in Reading-rooms 1 and 2 and many awards were given to children’s who mostly replied the questions. Library specialists read lectures for candidate high-school students after 7 forms and for candidate students. New reference books and books for schooling were presented to the students. Elder students – from the preparatory classes of language high schools and graduating students among who also were regularly readers of the foreign languages centre used library’s information services and its supported data. Tax free daily cards and season cards with 50 % discount were offered to the readers and they also had the chance to use for free library’s information services. The initiative „Take me back home” launched for books, which readers forgot to lend back to the library. Many readers responded to the initiative, that is why it is going to continue during the next days, said people from the library’s administration.
