Open doors day in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library

With great interest passed the second for this year Open doors day organized by “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional library. It is dedicated to the Day of the leaders of Bulgarian National Revival and the accent was the new visitors of the library to become well acquainted with the services and information possibilities of the servicing sections in the enlargement of the library.

Over 450 people on different ages visited the library. The youngest and the early-rising visitors were the children from “Mak” kindergarten. Over one hour they stay in the children department and entertained amongst books, games and enchanting heroes. Study tours in the library were organized for the elder pupils for familiarizing with library’s book collections, electronic data base, new incoming books and possibilities for meeting the varied requirements of the readers. Interesting multimedia presentations were presented in the Foreign Language Centre.

In the Open doors day the library was organized visited from pupils of “Vasil Levski” elementary school, IIIrd primary school “Dr. Ivan Seliminski”, “D. Chintulov”, secondary school of Natural and Maths sciences, “Damyan Damyanov” humanitarian secondary school, X „Yordan Yovkov” secondary school, “Maria Curie” professional secondary school of electronics and electrical engineering, and students from the branch of technical university in the town. Many individual visitations were registered also.

In the Open doors day the information servicing and one day registered reader’s cards were free of charge, one year registered cards were on price 1 lv. – for readers to 14 years of age and 2 lv. – for readers of over 14 years of age.

Pleasant surprises pursued the visitors of the library during the all day. The new registered readers received books as a gift from the library, and advertising materials, presenting the activities and information possibilities of different servicing departments of the library received others also.

      The great interest to the activity of the regional library and the numerous registered new readers clearly show that it is an institution with necessary and successful presence in the life of Sliven’s citizens.
