The Regional Library of Sliven celebrated 190 anniversary of its patron - eminent citizen of Sliven Sava Dobroplodni

The Regional Library of Sliven celebrated 190 anniversary of its patron Sava Dobroplodni in December 1-3, 2010. The events to celebrated the anniversary were aimed primarily at young people.

An interesting multimedia presentation about the life and work of prominent resident of Sliven, which left a deep imprint in the cultural history of Bulgaria as one of the most prominent Renaissance teachers, a prolific scholar, a community and theater activist, fighter for spiritual freedom, an active public figure was presented. The presentations, passed wer met with great interest by students, and they were attended by more than 240 students from „Zahari Stoyanov“ High school for foreign languages and „Damian Damyanov“ Humanitarian high school.

An artistic-documentary exhibition entitled "A life devoted to society", devoted to the anniversary of Dobroplodni was opened on December 1. It will be exposed  until December 16, 2010. The exhibition shows interesting documents, photos, letters, books and publications in the press related to Sava Dobroplodni's life and work. For the arrangement of exhibition were used materials kept in the Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library-Sliven, in the Historical Museum of the town of Sremski Karlovci / Serbia /, the Regional History Museum in Sliven and in „Petko Rachev Slaveykov“ Regional Library in the town of Veliko Tarnovo.
