“Le Mond Diplomatique” in Bulgarian was presented in Sliven

“Le Monde diplomatique” in Bulgarian - “ World and diplomacy” – was presented in Sliven on February 24, 2005. “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library and the “Book club” society – Sliven were organizers of the event. The event was held in Reading-room N1 of the library.

Readers can find analytical texts in economics, social and political matters of local and global significance in the first issue of the monthly newspaper in Bulgarian. More articles are translated from the original newspaper “Le Mond diplomatique”, the others are written by Bulgarian authors, eminent experts in economics, international policy, social analysys and culture. Some of the authors are winners of “Nobel” prize, philosophers and world famous writers. There are articles about valuable book, conferences in Bulgaria and abroad on questions of present interest.

“Le Mond diplomatique” is a favorite newspaper of several generations French and foreign politics and diplomats. The newspaper celebrated its 50 anniversary in May 2004. The newspaper was an addendum to the famous French”Le Mond” newspaper, but through the years it became financially and ideologically independent newspaper. The monthly newspaper is published today in 25 countries in 19 languages, totally 1.5 million copies. It is also an electronic newspaper, translated in 17 languages. All these facts show the world known prestige of the newspaper and the good will of its Bulgarian publishers to reach to as many as it is possible readers. Bulgarian readers of this newspaper are all people, who want to go deeper into the knowledge of society and all the mechanisms, which made the world go round nowadays. These ideas outlined the speakers on the presentation of the newspaper in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library Mr. Nikolai Stoyanov – a famous Bulgarian writer and an editor-in-chief of the newspaper in Bulgarian and Mr. Angel Grigorov – a journalist, political observer of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency and a vice-editor-in-chief.
