Friday Readings The start of Friday Readings – a new initiative of “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library - Sliven was on 27th January 2006. Petya Aleksandrova’s book “Stanka Pencheva’s literature inquiries” was presented by the author and the literature critic Ivanka Deneva, a doctor of pedagogic science. Sliven’s authors, intellectuals, journalists and readers showed high interest in the initiative. It was naturally for first Friday’s Readings to be chosen an author as Stanka Pencheva, who has consanguine and spiritual relationships with our town. Petya Aleksandrova told the audience how the idea of writing the book inspired her. She also told them about an interesting moment while describing her impressions from the conversations with the famous Bulgarian poetess Stanka Pencheva. People, familiar to Stanka Pencheva shared memories about her. A film about the meeting in Reading-room N 2 was made and it will be bestowed on the famous Sliven poetess. Friday readings will be held every last Friday of each month as the direction of the library has the idea to present to Sliven citizens famous writers from Bulgaria and abroad and their works, which mark the various literature style of the new century. |
