ANOTHER BOOK DONATION FROM NEF "13 CENTURIES OF BULGARIA" TO "SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY - SLIVEN
On October 4, 2018, during their visit to Sliven, the Executive Director of National Endowment Fund 13 Centuries of Bulgaria Mitko Dimitrov and representatives of the Fund visited Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library and donated to the Sliven cultural institution over 100 unique books. The donation includes monographs, albums, reference books and collections of documentary material from the fields of philosophy, sociology, religion, culture, law, history, geography, politics, geography, art, architecture, literary studies, finance, and contemporary translation and Bulgarian poetry and prose printed by Fund’s funds. Some of the books included in the donation are textbooks for universities. With the next donation, the books received from the Fund by Sava Dobroplodni in the last 10 years are already number over 1500. During the visit, the fund's representatives looked at the library building and expressed their admiration for the new part of the building and the successful technological solutions for combining the existing building and the new part into a single architectural ensemble as well as the modern facilities and accessibility of the environment. Guests were also impressed by the library's overall work: successes in working with different categories of readers; rich collections of books and new information media at the Foreign Language Center, the Children's Department, the free access halls, the reading rooms and other service units; from combining traditional library activities with new information services; the achievements of the library in the field of digitization and new technologies, etc. The guests showed a special interest in the purposeful work and the numerous activities of Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library for creating interest in books and reading from the earliest childhood and the National Children's Book Festival, organized by the library, unique for Bulgaria. New ideas for future collaborative work on literary contests and projects, as well as for organizing and conducting the next editions of the National Children's Book Festival were discussed. |
