Christmas - the brightest Christian holiday! Its history is thousands of years lasting and it is very difficult to tell in brief. This story has passed through a secret celebration and hypocritical placard, through wholehearted purification and eagerly feeling for the coming divine miracle. To reveal and explain this miracle for the young people – that was the goal of organized from 1 to 4 December in “Sava Dobroplodni” regional library, with the blessing and support of His Eminence Metropolitan of Sliven Yoanikiy 9 lectures with students from Sliven schools dedicated to the holly Christian holiday Christmas.

For four days the discussions were attended by more than 400 students from “Dobri Chintulov" High school of mathematics and natural sciences, "Zahari Stoyanov" High school of foreign languages, High School of humanitarian sciences Damyan Damyanov and were met with great interest. The lecturers: hierodeacon Kalist and the priests Sylvester and Ivan, with interesting multimedia presentations revealed the mystery of the Christmas holiday. They also answered the questions: who was Jesus Christ, where was he born and what was the reason for his birth in Bethlehem, what was its mission, how to celebrate Christmas, etc... They presented the prophecies of Micah and Isaiah about the coming of the savior, and the narrative in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke for his birth.

The style of presentation of the information and the ways of conducting discussions, the dialogue between speakers and listeners, reinforced the belief that the Bulgarian Church is reformed and opened to the public and that young people can get from it faith, spiritual guidance and support.

The initiative of the Regional Library to organize discussions on religious themes will continue into the future. It was prompted by the need of contemporary Bulgarian libraries to involve people in culture and religious orthodoxy as a major religion in the country by supporting the Orthodox education, education and culture.
