Donating campaign “Books of my childhood” in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Llibrary

The Bulgarian Red Cross organization and the “Coca-Cola” Company organized a National Donating campaign “Books of my childhood” in November. The event was held under the aegis of Mrs. Zorka Parvanova in nine Bulgarian cities. Sliven was one of those cities. The aim of the campaign was to increase readers’ interest in books.

Theatrical performance for children “Love for books” – a part of the children’s books donating campaign was performed on 21 November 2005 in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Llibrary. Children donated children’s book to other children in the library. A famous theatrical troupe “Marieta and Marioneta” performed parts from favorite tales. Students from II Elementary “Hristo Botev” school, “Anton Ivanov” Primary school and V Elementary “Peyo Yavorov” school in Sliven donated more than 300 books to other students. More than 1500 books were donated from children to other children in Sliven region until November 9th, during the days of the campaign. Children, who donated books, got special bracelets from volunteers of the Bulgarian Red Cross organization.
