Children workshop "Summer in the library" in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library ended with a fabulous ball

 

For the seventh consecutive year "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library organized for its young readers a workshop "Summer in the library" for children spending an enjoyable summer vacation, which started on July 1, 2013 and ended today, July 31, 2013.

More than 40 children aged 7 to 10 years took part in the workshop. Librarians took special care of children with special needs who attended the workshop.

On a special program each weekday children participated in a funny "reading hour" in which they read excerpts from their favorite books by famous children's authors, and wrote their impressions in special journals, organized in thematic sessions, learned interesting facts about libraries, miracles of the world, space, oceans, flora and fauna, the pirates, the Indians, fashion, the human body, pets, the history of their homeland, and other interesting topics. The practical activities in which children made ​​origami, masks, totems, attributes for wizards like magic wands, etc. were very interesting for children. Kids also made various interesting objects, painted, cut paper in various shapes, modeled plasticine and showed their artistic talents.

Within the program of the workshop, from July 8th, 2013 courses "First steps in computer literacy" for teaching children aged 8 to 10 years, on a specially adapted program, were organized in the library. In trainings computer usage and its application was introduced to children, they mastered their skills to work with the most popular word processing program Word, as well as to work with a printer and an external medium of information, acquired skills to work with Internet - registration, creating, sending, receiving e-mail, creating a Skype account, sending text attachment etc. Trainees received a certificate of completion.

Traditionally, the summer workshop ended with a fabulous ball with a lot of games, entertainment, surprises and prizes provided by the hosts.

The library team again, gave the children of Sliven a cheerful, joyful and unforgettable summer days, filled with lots of fun, humor and smiles, and of course a love for books and works of our most beloved children's authors.
