VALUABLE DONATION FOR "SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY FROM THE U.S. EMBASSY IN BULGARIA

On November 29, 2012 within the two-day forum on the program "Global Libraries- Bulgaria" on topic "Innovative practices for promoting children's reading" Mrs. Snejana Yaneva - Director of the Information Center of the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria presented the program Early Literacy Station ™ (ELS) for improving literacy of children in English. After the presentation she made a valuable donation to "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional library from the U.S. Embassy, including a computer and specialized software modules of the program. The workstation for early literacy is a dynamic compact solution designed for use by children. It includes a library of over 50 educational modules presented through entertaining images, animation and intriguing menus. From books for the youngest readers to materials supporting the curriculum in schools, the workstation offers something special for every child. The modules are consistent with the age of the children, easy to use and have a high entertaining and educational value. In addition, a special program provides access to carefully selected educational resources and ensures a safe use of the Internet. The workstation was developed by the American company AWE, which specializes in developing digital solutions for education. In Bulgaria, the U.S. Embassy has equipped with a computer and specialized software with the modules of the program Early Literacy Station ™ (ELS) only 9 large libraries.
