Days of Fairy Tales in “Sava Dobroplodni”

Regional Library

 “Sava Dobroplodni” regional library organized for the children of Sliven performances based on favorite fairy tales for the twelfth year in a row from 21st to 29th of March.

The performances this year have been devoted to 225th birth anniversary of the world’s story teller Wilhelm Grimm and they were attended by more than 350 children. The litter spectators of the shows, first grade pupils from various schools in Sliven, experienced exciting moments with the characters of the most beloved tales of the Brothers Grimm. In the enigmatic territory of the desires and fantasy they met and befriend their favorite fairy tale characters, even became one of them, they empathy the pains and joys, manifested courage and nobility, supported them in their battle with the evil, laugh over greed, stupidity and hypocrisy ...

Every day, on a preliminary schedule, the library hosted also performances for being literate of first grade pupils from II “Hristo Botev" elementary school, "Vasil Levski", primary school, V “P. Yavorov” secondary school and IV “D. Petrov” secondary school. After the show, prepared by the librarians, the children presented to their parents, in poems and songs, their knowledge of letters. At the end of the show first graders received their first readers’ cards and a brochure with the request and advice of the book.

By organizing the traditional already on the eve of International Day of Children's Book /2 April/ Days of fairy tales and festivities about the letters, the managing board of “Sava Dobroplodni” regional library aims in an unconventional and interesting for children way to make them closer to books and reading, to make the library an attractive place for knowledge and entertainment.
