”SAVA DOBROPLODNI” REGIONAL LIBRARY HAS BEEN AWARDED A HONORARY DIPLOMA FOR ITS CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF „DETKO PETROV” NATIONAL LIBRARY (DIMITROVGRAD, SERBIA)

The 110 anniversary of the establishment of “Detko Petrov” National library was officially celebrated on 28 and 29 of January 2008 in Dimitrovgrad /Serbia/. The ceremony, organized with the support of the Serbian Ministry of culture and the Municipality o Dimitrovgrad, was attended also by Bulgarian guests, amongst who was the directress of ”Sava Dobroplodni” Regional library- Mrs. Rositsa Petrova. Honorary diplomas were awarded to several Serbian and Bulgarian institutions for their contributions to the enrichment of the funds and to the development of the library a special ceremony in the House of culture in Dimitrovgrad. The Bulgarian institutions which were distinguished were The State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, Metropolitan library and ”Sava Dobroplodni” Regional library. The director of Dimitrovgrad library – Mr. Ivan Ivanov - outlined in his speech the special merits of Sliven regional library for the enrichment of the fund of the library with books in Bulgarian and for the successful collaboration between both libraries.
