FOLKLORE ENSEMBLE "KLASEK"- MIKLAVZ AT ORMOZU /SLOVENIA / VISITED "SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY – SLIVEN

 

Children's Folklore Ensemble “Klasek” /Slovenia/ visited Sliven Regional Library on May 26 during the days of the XVth International Children's Folklore Dance Festival /Sliven, May 23 – 27, 2011/. Children's folklore ensemble "Klasek" from primary school in the town in Miklavz at Ormozu / Slovenia / was established in 2002. It performs Slovenian folk dances that include singing and playing folk instruments. Children represented the folk tradition of the Eastern part of Slovenia - Styria area. They were dressed in costumes worn by Slovene children in the years between 1915 and 1930. In the the library's courtyard children from the ensemble performed several songs and dances from the folklore of Slovenia. At the end of the concert kids organized for employees of the library a kind of "dance school" which was also attended by readers. With lots of laughter and humor kids and librarians and readers all together danced two typical for Slovenia dances. After the concert the children had an excursion in the library and got acquainted with its activities. In computer rooms they were able to use Internet. Every child received from the hosts souvenirs and promotional materials as a memento of his visit to the library.
