PRESENTATION OF BOOKS OF SLIVEN WRITERS PUBLISHED IN 2012

        Fifty books written by writes from Sliven and Sliven region published in 2012 were presented on the first for the new 2013 year Friday literary reading in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library on January 25 from 5.00 pm. The traditional event celebrated its 15 - year anniversary and it again brought together artists, critics and readers to share their impressions of the newly-published books. Library initiative does not aim to present a thorough literary analysis of the books, but rather to provoke readers’ interest in them, focusing on the achievements of the authors and the new and different ideas that they offer their readers.

The poet Tenko Tenev - a Chairman of the Writers’ union in Yambol, and Dimitar Bechev- a literary critic – and a Director of "Georgi Sava Rakovski" Regional Library – Yambol have an undeniable contribution to the tradition in the review of the books of Sliven writers. This year they presented again to the public their profound professional insight for the books read by them - not an easy task, having in mind the number and genre variety of the books published. The review showed that last year were published nine books of poetry and an anthology, also 35 books of fiction - novels, short stories, memoirs, journalism and literary criticism, historical and regional studies and family studies and collections, travelogues, biographies and essayistic publications, research works in church music, etc. There are books about children too - five books for children, two of which were written by the talented poetess from Sliven Petya Alexandrova were published in 2012 too.

       "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library treats with a great respect the works of all Sliven writers and thanked them for their willingness and readiness to donate the library their new books, contributing this way to the enrichment of its funds and acquainting readers with their new creative ideas.
