Mrs. Rosica Petrova-Vasileva took part in an international scientific forum in the city of Pecs, Hungary
The Director of the Regional Library Mrs. Rosica Petrova-Vasileva took part as the only representative from Bulgaria in the international conference: "Education, knowledge, education - librarians in service of the future", held in the city of Pecs / Hungary / from 12th to 16th July 2011. The conference was organized by the Association of Hungarian Librarians (FEM), University of Pecs, the Association of Hungarian Librarians of Baranja region and the South Trans-Danubian Regional Library and Knowledge Centre / Pecs / - a host of the event. It was attended by more than 700 library professionals from Hungary and representatives of large libraries of Finland, Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Romania and Croatia. The conference aimed to highlight the importance of modern education and lifelong learning in modern democratic societies and the importance of continuing education to develop the competence of librarians. Lectures and seminars were focused on showing how librarians can be supported to achieve useful knowledge and modern education. Mrs. Rosica Petrova - Vasileva in her report presented the Bulgarian experience in the field of continuing education for librarians and a training program for librarians on the "Global Libraries Bulgaria" program. The conference was attended by Dr. Miklos Reteli – Minister of Education and Culture of Hungary and academician Prof. Joseph Bodin – Rector of the University of Pecs. The Scientific Forum was organized with the support of the municipality of Pecs and the administration of Baranja District. |
