“Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library presented books of Sliven writers published in 2007

Books of Sliven writers and writers from Sliven region published in the last year were presented on the first for 2008 Friday reading on 25 January 2008 in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library. The event started in 5.00 p. m. in reading-room № 2. Literary critics, writers and readers met in the library to share their thoughts and impressions from the new books.

More than 40 writers, well-known to the Bulgarian audience and new writers, authors of prose and poetry were presented on the Friday reading by Tenko Tenev – a poet, a president of the Association of writers in the town of Yambol, and by the literary critic Dimitar Bechev – a director of “Georgi Rakovski” regional library - Yambol. The event was included in the cultural program of Sliven municipality.

Three important editions were published in 2007 in “Sava Dobroplodni” regional library. A symposium of reports from the Round table of the IX National Children’s Book Festival on topic: “European dimensions of Bulgarian children’s literature”; a medley of the works, winner s of the National literary competition on topic “Book is a friend of mine – a roadmap of a dreamer” and the bilingual anthology in Bulgarian and Serbian “Fallen Pearls” – favourite children’s poems from favourite Bulgarian poetesses.

The presentation of the books, published last year aims not at deeply analyzing of the published works, but making them a literary fact and outlining that there still writing poets and writers in Sliven who deserve respect and their works vary in the different genres.
