The new novel of Valdo Daverov “Mr. Director of the Harbour” was presented in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library
The writer Vlado Daverov was a guest of the Friday literary readings at “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library on 24th of November. His new novel “Mr. Director of the Harbour” was presented to the Sliven citizens. The writer Nikolay Stoyanov, an editor of the book and Mr. Igor Chipev – a director of “Book and library sciences” department at the Ministry of culture, attended the event. The meting was held in an emotional atmosphere and in a great interest to the new novel of Valdo Daverov, known not only by readers, but also by the fans of Bulgarian movies of high quality. Most of the people, who attended the meeting, reminded with pleasure the works of Vlado Daverov – an author of 10 books with stories and short-novels, also screenplays, on which 11 movies were shot and 20 more documentary movies. Some of his very popular novels are: "Yesterday", "Kennedy", "Rapturous and wild", "Heavenly angels", "The Life of others". He is a winner of the following awards: "Southern Spring ", "Golden chain" of “Trud" newspaper, first award of the Moscow film festival, Grand prix of the film festival in San Remo, the award of the audience of the “Golden rose” festival and the award for the best screenplay of the Union of film workers. Vlado Daverov was awarded recently a prize for best humoristic short story “Chudomir 2006”, which prize he dedicated to his friend, who died – the writer Christo Kalchev. Nikolay Stoyanov – an editor of Valdo Daverov’s new book considers, that by the novel “Mr. Director of the Harbour”, Valdo Daverov “enters powerfully in the so called “new prose”. This is the prose, by which Bulgaria may safely enter into the big world”. The readers were interested in the different themes and content of the prose, which Daverov demonstrated in his new novel. The novel is highly readable, humorous, showing a good knowledge of the Bulgarian mentality, focused on a symbolic for each Bulgarian place – Belene, where the fates of the main characters of the novel mix in an absurd way the history with the a totally modern problem, which several Bulgarian governments in row from our newest history are trying to decide – the fate of the atom energetic in Bulgaria. And all that is about a dead body...The author said that there will be a future making of a film of his book. At present Vlado Daverov is writing a new novel, and he is willing to write a stage play, although, he has never been written a play so far.
