The Reading room
is one of the newest info centers in Sofia – a modern urban reading room and
an information center, a favorite place in the City Park next to the
National Theatre "Ivan Vazov". After years of mismanagement, the abandoned
glass pavilion in the alley behind the fountain was repaired and renovated,
and on July 29, 2015 it officially welcomed citizens and tourists in the
capital. The Project Reading room was implemented by the "Association for
urban reading rooms" in partnership with Municipal Enterprise "Tourism" at
Sofia Municipality, many partners and citizens - donors. The project the
Reading room aims at creating a new, modern public reading room to be
attractive social environment for reading and sharing books and information.
It is a cozy place that inspires love for books every day.
One of the goals of the staff of the Reading room is to make partnerships
with the most active provincial libraries. The beginning of the partnership
with "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library - Sliven was launched by the
interesting collection of books provided.
