WORKSHOP "SUMMER IN THE LIBRARY" STARTS IN "SAVA DOBROPLODNI" - SLIVEN

It's summer again - the favorite season of children. Long awaited, it's time for games and fun, meeting new friends, traveling, adventures and enjoyable experiences.

In order to make the holiday of the small readers happy, fun and unique, Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library - Sliven again organizes a summer workshop "Summer in the Library - 2018". Traditionally, the Summer Workshop is held in July. This year, the initiative will start on July 2 and will last until July 31, 2018. Children aged 7 to 10 years – who are registered readers of the library - may attend it.

Within the program, every day from 9.00 am to 10.00 am, amusing reading classes will be held, during it excerpts from books from famous and beloved Bulgarian and foreign children's authors will be read and from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm., the children can participate in a thematic activity. This year some of the lessons are subject to the theme "On the Trail of Time" and will offer exciting trips to the history, customs and traditions of our city. The aim is present Sliven to kids through interesting presentations, stories, lectures, films and visits to architectural and historical monuments and to natural sites. Through interesting presentations and creative activities the children will become acquainted with the literary history of Sliven and its most prominent representatives (Dobri Chintulov, Elisaveta Bagryana, Stanka Pencheva, Konstantin Konstantinov, Nadya Nedelina, Bancho Banov, Petya Alexandrova, etc.)

Eighteenth of July will be dedicated to Vasil Levski. Through interesting presentations the children will get acquainted with the life and work of the great Bulgarian and will bring flowers to his monument.

The program of the workshop includes topics related to book publishing and book history, friendship and ethics in relationships, the plant and animal world and their preservation, as well as children's favorite topics about the world of dinosaurs, pirates - robbers, but also adventure hunters, the mysterious world of fantastic beings, etc.

Traditionally, children will also learn about the magic of the theater, by different techniques in the making of theatrical dolls, the profession of the actor and the director. They will prepare themselves and at the end of the workshop they will present their theatrical performance.

A special place is dedicated to the topic: "Encounter with modern technologies", and programming will be presented as a fun adventure. There will also be training on programming with the Finch robot.

The knowledge gained in the thematic activities of the summer workshop program dedicated to the history of Sliven, the children will check in a specially prepared electronic game.

In practical classes children will paint, model with plasticine, learn a number of practical skills such as puppets, origami, masks, amulets, book dividers, cards, magical attributes making, will have fun, and will find new friends.

The workshop will end on July 31 with "Parade of the Talents."

From July 2nd in the Children's Department of Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library, for the second consecutive year a campaign for popularizing the children's reading under the slogan "Fun summer with a book" will be launched. At the end of the campaign, on September 15th, 2018, readers of the Children's Department who have read the largest number of books loaned from the library during the summer vacation will be selected. Special prizes will also be provided for them.
