"Summer in the library" program started in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library – Sliven on July 1st
It is summer again - one of the best seasons, filled with games, adventures and many favorite things. For next year in a row "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library offers its little readers a special program for spending a meaningful and enjoyable summer vacation. The program will start on the 1st of July 2013 and will continue until 31st of July 2013. Children aged 7 to 10 years may took part in the classes. Every day from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. children will have "reading hour" for reading excerpts from favorite books by famous children's authors, and from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00, children will attend thematic classes chosen by them. This year too interesting topics related to space, planets, oceans, plant and animal life, the seasons, the human body, the rules for good health, fashion, pets, etc., are selected for the classes. In a funny and interesting way children will learn facts about the life of Indians and pirates, will have culinary trips, learn interesting facts about their native land, will hear mysterious stories, will meet famous writers and artists, will learn many practical skills, will paint, will make plastic figures, and most of all will have fun and will make new friends. Only children who are library patrons may took part in the classes. A detailed program can be found on the library's website (reglibsliven.iradeum.com) in section "For you, kids". Within the program, from July 8, 2013, the library also runs a series of courses "First steps in computer literacy" for teaching children aged 8 to 10 years. Each course lasts seven days and it is free for library members as trainings are held from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The program includes an overview of computer usage and administration, trivia, terms and information, initial steps for work with the most popular word processing program Word; work with printer, work with external data media, work with Internet; registration, creating, sending, receiving e-mail messages; creating a Skype account, sending a text attachment, etc. Classes are a combination of presentations, exercises, games. Training is done by a child-friendly program by a qualified engineer - teacher. |
