OPEN DOORS DAY IN "SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY

Open Doors Day was held on 18.09.2012 in “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library traditionally for the beginning of the school year. More than 370 students from different schools visited the library. Librarians organized for them excursions in the library and provided updated information about new library materials support learning: books, reference books, textbooks, specialized periodicals, multimedia etc. in all library’s departments. The way of using the automated databases of the library’s online catalog and opportunities for consultation and reserving book via e-mail were presented through interesting presentations. There were surprises for the students organized in each hall - fun quizzes and prizes - provided by the library. One of the most visited places in the library was again the Children's Department. For the youngest readers in the department the librarian had prepared funny games, and, of course, lots of prizes. In the Foreign languages center started organized visits of students devoted to September 26 - European Day of Languages. The book fund of the department was presented to the students and rich information resources supporting language learning at any age. The visits will continue until September 21 on a time schedule. The Open Doors Day was a good opportunity for both students and for many senior citizens to visit the library and take advantage of free information services, and professional support for the use of information and communication technology /ICT/.
