DAYS OF Francophonie IN "Sava DOBROPLODNI" - SLIVEN Regional Library ENDED

Traditionally on the eve of March 20th – The International Day of Francophonie, "Sava Dobroplodni" - Sliven Regional Library organizes various events dedicated to the French language and culture. This way our city took part in the celebration of the holiday which unites more than 870 million francophones worldwide.

This year's celebrations of the French language and culture in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library were held from 14 to 18 of March 2016 and more than 200 students from French classes taught in High school for foreign languages "Zahari Stoyanov" and many readers – francophones took part in the event. Librarians from the foreign languages center of the library presented to the audience a presentation in French on topic: "The Rock Flowers" of French poetry - Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, and Arthur Rimbaud. Great interest attracted also the movie "The Little Prince" - in French. In the language center was also presented the collection of works by contemporary French authors, as well as many new materials to support the study of the French language.

At the end of each collective visit a survey was made in which students answered the question: "What the Francophonie means to me?" For most of them, "Francophonie means love the French language"; "Francophonie is a community of people and countries that speak French", "Francophonie means to speak one and the same language - French. It helps to build links of solidarity and understanding, facilitate the exchange of ideas, arouses interest in French culture and language, with its traditions and customs"," Francophonie strengthens the dialogue between cultures and civilizations through the knowledge of the French language".

It was a pleasure for the organizers of "Sava Dobroplodni" regional library to get the satisfaction that by organizing such events they create a growing interest of students to the French language and culture.
