A Week of Francophonie

in „Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library - Sliven

 

A week devoted to French language and culture bewas held in ” Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library from 14 to 18 March 2011.The agenda of the Francophonie week included two presentations in French: "Versailles" - representing the castle of Versailles, its gardens and fountains, the estate of Marie Antoinette, and „The damned poets "- presenting interesting moments from the life and work of the eminent French poets Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rimbaud. The presentations were attended by more than 250 students who intensively study French language in "Zaharii Stoyanov” High School and „Dobri Chintulov " High school in maths and natural sciences on a preliminary schedule. The program included organized tours in the Foreign language center, where to the students were presented works of contemporary French writers, and new textbooks and tests to help learning French. The week of Francophonie in „Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library ended on March 18, in the eve of the International Day of Francophonie, which is celebrated on March 20. The International Day of Francophonie has been celebraed in Bulgaria since 1993.
