"SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY ORGANIZED A PARTY IN OCCASION OF THE 90^TH ANNIVERSARY OF PETER DOBREV

On November 16^th, 2017, a nice party devoted to the 90^th anniversary of the birth of Petar Dobrev - director of the institution, in the period of August 1966 - November 1973 took place in the Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library. Many former and current employees of the library attended the jubilee party.

Mrs. Rosica Petrova-Vasileva - the director of the regional library welcomed the jubilee. In her cordial speech, she pointed out the contributions of Petar Dobrev as a teacher, journalist, writer and public figure, stressing that for the library's employees the most important are his merits to build the first extension of the library building and to transform the cultural institution into a leading library and information center not only on the territory of Sliven and the region but also in the country. Rositsa Petrova-Vasileva handed Mr. Dobrev a special prize – a bronze sculpture for his contribution to library development.

Mr. Dobrev was very excited and he told memories about his work in the library and the difficulties that accompanied building of the library. Memories about these difficult, yet very enthusiastic years were also shared by the ex librarians Ivanka Mihaylova, Yanka Koleva, Ginka Boeva, Mary Raynova, Radostina Karakasheva and Radost Mundrova.

 The celebration ended with many flowers, a glass of champagne for the jubilee, a photo of all the guests and a promise for new meetings.
