A Pilot training on “Global Libraries – Bulgaria” program for librarians from Sliven region started in the training center of Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library - Sliven

 A training for librarians from target libraries of Sliven region under the "Information and communication technologies” direction started in the computer training center of “Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library- Sliven, established under the “Global Libraries – Bulgaria” program on 15 March 2011. Three courses will be organized and 30 librarians, representatives of the target libraries, approved during the first and second phase of the program and equipped with computer and peripheral equipment will be trained in the center by the end of June. Each course will be conducted in two parts with a total duration of 11 days. The main components of the training include: introduction of the hardware aspects of the computerized workplace, introduction of the operating systems, of application software and the most frequently used software in library activities, getting acquainted and working with the operating system WINDOWS 7; work with MS OFFICE 2007 / Word, Excel, MS Publisher /. The last module of the training is devoted to the Internet. Students will learn about the technological structure of the Internet information infrastructure of the World Wide Web and work in the Internet / browsers and work with them, searching the Internet, communication via the Internet, work in on-line social networks, security and remedies, creating the site of the library and supporting it/.

The training is conducted by highly qualified specialists on methodology, curriculum and materials developed specifically for the program.

At the end of training each librarian will receive a certificate of course completion.

The course aims librarians from the target libraries to acquire knowledge and practical skills in ICT to work perfect and effectively with consumers in the established on the program computer labs.
