"SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY ANNOUNCES TERMS FOR PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL LITERARY COMPETITION, NATIONAL PLAIN AIR OF CHILDREN'S DRAWING AND Vth NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THEATRE PUPPET OF FAVOURITE LITARARY CHARACTERS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE XVIIIth NATIONAL CHILDREN'S BOOK FESTIVAL / SLIVEN, MAY 9 – 11, 2016 /
The XVIIIth National Children's Book Festival will be held in Sliven from 9 to 11 May 2016. The festival is organized by "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Municipality of Sliven Regional Administration - Sliven, Association "Bulgarian Book", SABA, the largest children's publishers and others and attracts many participants from the country and abroad. Along with the numerous events included in the program of the forum, traditionally are held National Literature Competition, National plain air of painting and National Competition for making theatrical puppets of favorite literary characters for provoking the creative talents of children and teenagers from all over the country and from Bulgarian Communities abroad. The results of the competition are announced in the days of the festival. Here are the conditions for participation and the themes of the competitions this year.

A NATIONAL LITERARY COMPETITION:
“The secret of a Dreamseller“
Children and teenagers 7-18 years of age may take part in the competition-they will be divided into three groups: 7-10 years old, 11-14 years old, 15-18 years old. Each participant is allowed to present not more than 2 literature writings /a fairy tale,a story , a poem/, especially written for the competition. The works must be no longer than 5 typed pages and send them written on a computer or via e-mail. A competent committee will select the winners. Many awards will be given. The best works-winners will be published in a medley. Works for the competition with your personal data / name, surname, family name, age, school, post address and telephone number for contacts and e-mail address, written on them/ post to the following address:

TO TAKE PART IN THE NATIONAL PLAIN AIR OF DRAWING ON TOPIC: “Adventure Through the Looking Glass“
The plain air of painting will take place in Sliven on May 10, 2016 from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Children and teenagers 7-15 years of age may take part in the plain air of painting. They will be divided into three groups: 7-10 years old, 11-13 years and 14-15 years old. The organizers of the event will give participants a sheet of paper for drawing - size 35/50 см. Other materials for painting must be brought by participants, depending on their personal needs. A competent committee will select the winners. Winners of the plain air of painting will be awarded on May 11, 2016 from 10.30 a.m. during the closing concert of the festival. An exhibition of the works from the plain air of paining will be arranged. The organizers will pay for one night stay at a hotel /10th of May/+ breakfast of 1 child from an age group and 1 teacher for the participants from art schools. Travel expenses stay on participants’ account. More detailed information about organization and carrying out the plain air of painting will be disposed at those participants’ disposal, who post/or e-mail us a request for participation until the deadline - March 31st, 2016.

FIFTH NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR MAKING PUPPETS OF FAVOURITE LITERARY CHARACTERS

Изберете ваш любим литературен герой и изработете негова театрална кукла. We turn to you with a great offer. Select your favorite literary hero and constructed a puppet theater. The competition is open to children and adolescents aged 7 to 16 years, divided into three age groups: 7-10 years old 11-14 years old 15-16 years. Each participant may submit up to 2 puppets. The puppets must not be higher than 30 cm. A professional jury will select the best puppets. The competition results will be announced within the program of the XVIIIth National Children's Book Festival - Sliven, 2016. Prizes to the winners will be handed in at a special ceremony. The puppets made by the participants in the competition will not be returned to them. They will be exposed in the museum of theater puppets of favorite literary characters in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional library - Sliven. Children and adults, in a fantastic and incredible atmosphere can enjoy at the museum many interesting puppets, and the diverse artistry of their creators. Good luck!
