 A literary reading was held under the slogan "The soul of the poet" dedicated to 75 years from the birth of the poet Damian Damyanov on February 15, in 5.00 p.m. in the Reading Room № 2 of “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library. The event was organized by the regional library in partnership with the Municipality of Sliven and Humanitarian High School Damian Damyanov and gathered many admirers of good poetry, friends and relatives of the poet came to pay homage to the personality of our eminent fellow citizen and to touch up his work again , to bow to his talent. Special guest of the meeting was his wife, the poetess Nadezhda Zaharieva.

The reading began with the recital of verses of Damian Damianov by students of the Humanitarian High School. The emotional atmosphere of the event was continued with the reading of special memories for the poet sent by Petya Aleksansdrova about her meetings and contacts with the poet. The audience listened with a great interest Nadezhda Zaharieva’s story about the difficulties and happy moments in her life with Damian Damianov, which was not an easy life, about his creative researches for the last years of his life and his silent struggle with people’s malice and incapacity, with the political situation and power inefficiency. Nadezhda Zaharieva answered the numerous questions of the audience.

Unpublished poems wrote by Damian Damianov and stored in the archives of the family were read on the meeting.

Moderator of the meeting was Dochka Petrova - lecturer in Bulgarian language and literature at the Humanitarian High School "Damian Damyanov.
