A JUBILEE PLAQUE, POTOTYPIC PUBLICATION OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE PRINCIPALITY OF BULGARIA / 1879 / AND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE KINGDOM OF BULGARIA / 1911 / RECEIVED "SAVA DOBROPLDODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY BY MRS. TSVETA KARAYANCHEVA - PRESIDENT OF THE 44th NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA

On May 9, 2019, Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva, President of the 44th National Assembly, during her visit to Sliven on the occasion of the XXI National Children's Book Festival, Sliven, May 9-11,  2019, handed in to the Director of Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library - Dr. Rositsa Petrova-Vasileva, an Anniversary Plaque on the occasion of the 140th Anniversary of the Constituent National Assembly and the adoption of the Tarnovo Constitution.

In addition to the plaque, Tsveta Karayancheva gifted to the library two valuable publications: a phototype edition of the Turnovo Constitution ("Constitution of the Principality of Bulgaria"), adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 16 April 1879 and the "Constitution of the Kingdom of Bulgaria" (the Silver Constitution), adopted on 9 July 1911. of the Grand National Assembly, in which a complete revision of the Turnovo Constitution was made in accordance with the international legal status of Bulgaria after the declaration of independence (22nd of September 1908). In the "Silver Constitution" everywhere, including in its name, the words principality and prince have been replaced by a kingdom and a king. Besides editorial, the corrections are also in substance. The Bulgarian monarch extends his mandate and, together with the government, receives the right to conclude international treaties without notifying the National Assembly. The mandate of the Bulgarian Parliament becomes 4 years. Other changes have been made.

The editions will be available to library users in the public science reading room.
