A computer lab on the project "Global Libraries-Bulgaria" was opened in the library at the community center "Slantse" in Gavrailovo village, Sliven region A computer lab on the project "Global Libraries-Bulgaria" was officially opened in "Slantse" community centre in the village of Gavrailovo today, October 12, 2011. There are now 5 computers with Internet access and a multifunction device in the library in the Community Center available to residents of the village. The hall is equipped with a multimedia projector and a screen. The opening ceremony was attended by Desislava Taneva – a deputy from GERB party and Radost Kostova - a deputy mayor of Sliven Municipality, Dora Eskidarova - a Head of "Culture and religion" department in the municipality of Sliven, Rosica Petrova-Vasileva – a Regional Coordinator of the "Global Libraries-Bulgaria" program for the Sliven region, the mayor of the village D. Andreev, representatives of community centers in the municipality, residents of the village. The celebration was opened by Tsveta Hristova - a librarian in the library. Rosica Petrova - Vasileva welcomed the audience as she spoke about the goals of the "Global Libraries - Bulgaria" program and the benefits for local community for the participation of NS "Sun" it said. Ms. Desislava Taneva also welcomed the public. In her speech she stressed on the Government's efforts, despite the financial crisis, to support the modernization of various sectors and activities, including those in the field of culture, and wished the librarian to multiply library’s users and the new services that will be offered in the computer room to help that. The celebration ended with a presentation about the history, main activities and achievements of "Slantse" community centre in its nearly century-old history. The most eager customers - the youngest readers of the library took their seats in front of computers in the lab before the end of the ceremony. |
