WITH ME" IN "Sava DOBROPLODNI" Regional Library - Sliven
"Sava
Dobroplodni" Regional Library - Sliven opened doors for fans of the good
books of all ages who took part in the biggest national reading campaign
"Read to me" on June 11, 2016. Traditionally for the third year children and
adults read excerpts from their favorite books. The Reading Marathon began
at 10.00 sharp in Children's department where children and parents read
excerpts from "Strange thing" by Dora Gabe, "On the path of the rainbow" by
Leda Mileva, "Small frog stories" by Radichkov. Children enjoyed much the
merry adventures of Lisko by Boris Aprilov. They also read several letters
of the little dachshund Jerry from the book "Dear Brother" by Stanka
Pancheva. The most preferred by children
Bulgarian folk tales were: "The fox and the hedgehog", "The Bear and the bad
word", "Three Brothers and golden apple", "Tell me spinning wheel",
"Unborn Petko", etc. Books from foreign authors that were
read were: "Pippi Longstocking" and "Karlsson-on-the-roof" by Astrid
Lindgren, "The jungle book" by the English writer Rudyard Joseph Kipling,
tales by Charles Perrault, Andersen,
and the Brothers Grimm. Teenagers preffered to read excerpts from "Robinson
Crusoe" by Daniel Defoe, "Gulliver's Travels" by Jonathan Swift, Silvana de
Marie - "The Last Elf". Also J. K. Rowling’s
"Harry Potter", "Quidditch through the Ages" and "The Tales
of Beedle the Bard."
The
readers in the foreign language center read excerpts from books in foreign
languages as "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by the American novelist Harriet Beecher
Stowe, "Ficciones" by Jorge Luis Borges, "Vanity Fair" by the English
novelist William Thackeray, "King Solomon's Mines" by the English author H.
Rider Haggard, etc others.
A nice surprise for all participants in the
original reading marathon was reading excerpts from favorite books in French
and German. They also read excerpts from "Nathan the Wise" by Gothold
Lessing, "Faust" by Johann Goethe, "The Life of Galileo" by Bertolt Brecht
and the novel "Hello pain" by the French novelist Francoise Sagan, works by
Jean Anouilh and Antoine de
Saint-Exupéry’s "Night flight" and "Land of the people".
For
all those who participated in the
reading, the organizers of the library provided stickers from the campaign
"Read to me" and the youngest readers
also received as a gift "Barborino" magazine.
By
participating in the campaign readers of the library showed that reading can
be appropriate, fun, enjoyable and beneficial pastime and a wonderful
opportunity to find new friends. |
