"SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY, KNIGOMANIA PUBLISHING AND STEFAN KIROV DRAMA THEATRE ORGANIZED IN SLIVEN PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "YEARS OF LOVE. NEVENA KOKANOVA" AND THE DOCUMENTARY MOVIE "NEVENA KOKANOVA. JOURNEY"

On 11.02.2019, at 5:00 pm, the biographical book "Years of Love. Nevena Kokanova" and the documentary movie "Nevena Kokanova.Journey“, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the actress's birth were presented in the overcrowded Chamber Hall of DT "Stefan Kirov". The event was organized by Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library in partnership with the Knigomaniapublishing and the Stefan Kirov State Theater as part of a national tour. The book and the movie were presented by their author – the journalist Georgi Toshev.

December 12th, 2018, marked 80th anniversary of the birth of the first lady of Bulgarian cinema – the actress Nevena Kokanova. The biographical book "Years of Love" is dedicated to this anniversary. It is a story of her extraordinary life and exciting career. The book also includes over 250 photos from her daughter Teodora's personal archive, some of which are being published for the first time.

The title of the book is not a coincidence - it corresponds to the first important film in Nevena Kokanova's career-"Years of Love", but also outlines the actress's starry fate of being adored by her fans forever. Although for G.Toshev this is the second book that he writes to honor the big star of the Bulgarian cinema (the first is from 2009, "Nevena Kokanova, who am I ..."), for the first time he published his whole interview with her . It is very personal - as a confession, long and deep in nuances, as it affects different, purely universal human subjects, the stages of her career, reveals her worldview and wisdom. "Years of Love" recalls "The Face of Nevena" from her debut in "Two Wins" (1956), the first major role of Emma (in "Years of Love"), the first appearance on the theater scene, the first love, the leading roles in the movies Tobacco, Ladies Invite – one of the successful comedies of Bulgarian cinema, her only appearance as a director - finishing the movie of her husband L. Sharlandjiev "The three sins“ (1980), the choice to leave or stay in Bulgaria and other important moments of her life as an actress.

The Nevena Mirrors section presents stories and emotions shared by the closest people of the actress - from her daughter Teodora Sharlandjieva, her longtime friend Pavel Pavlov, the wife of the director Valo Radev - Zheni Radeva, archaeologist Dikran Balabanyan, her neighbor in her favorite neighborhood Chomatsi in Gabrovo Balkan. New views of her personality are added by the actress Sofia Kuzeva and the journalist Kiril Asparuhov.

"Years of love. Nevena Kokanova" is a bow to the actress's beauty, talent and strong spirit.

At the end of the event was also presented the new documentary movie by Georgi Toshev "Nevena Kokanova. Journey".
