Konstantin Katsarov, the author of the novel „Gangster”, which caused a sensation, met his fans in Sliven
Konstantin Katsarov’s novel “Gangster” was presented in the Chamber hall of the Sliven Dramatic theatre on the 11th of October. The premiere of the book was one of the events, with which “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library took part in the Sliven municipality’s programme, dedicated on Sliven’s holiday St Dimitar’s day.
Konstantin Katsarov’s works and his last novel “Gangster” were presented by the well-known to the Sliven and Yambol book fans author – the writer Christo Karastoyanov.
The audience in the Chamber hall of the Sliven Dramatic theatre had the chance to listen to a part of the audio version of the novel, with the participation of the famous Bulgarian actors Christo Shopov, Jocko Rositch, Vanya Shtereva, Georgi Vachev and 20 more eminent figures.
“Evil power and a passion for love – these are the two poles, which hold in a satanic and powerful balance the main character of this harsh novel”, this is the shortest evaluation of Christo Karastoyanov about the first book of Konstantin Katsarov “Dribble”, published last year. In his new novel “Gangster” /2006/ Katsarov’s main character Anton Michailov (The Wild Dog) continues his “dribble” between people and events in a complicated labyrinth of emotions. Is there an exit for his way? According to critics, the answer of that question consists in that book. Because it was written in a brilliant manner by a man, who knows everything about the facts and events that happened in the novel.
Konstantin Katsarov impressed his fans in Sliven by his sincere way of speaking, his unadulterated truth of life and the true values in it. “I treat written speech seriously and respectfully, I try all the time to become perfect in my work. It is pleasure for me to write and I will continue to do it. “I needed several months to engage about thirteen people-writers, actors, painters, journalists- to create with me and my staff the audio version of the novel “Gangster” and I hope they are not angry with me”- the writer shared with his fans. The author is very proud of the fact that all the participants in the project for creating the first audio version of a novel in Bulgaria, got involved in the project after they read the text of the novel and highly evaluated it and they did their job free, which sound absurdly for nowadays.
And, not just as a compliment for the host, Konstantin Katsarov shared, that he felt in our town Sliven a spirit of a creative presence, which he only felt in his home-town Plovdiv. That is why he was ready to be our gust here again, not only as a writer, but as a musician too as he is a front man of his band “Renegade”. In this way he made not only new readers of his novels, but also friends.
