"SAVA DOBROPLODNI" REGIONAL LIBRARY- SLIVEN PRESENTED MIRELA IVANOVA’S BOOK "BULGARIA SQUARE" Mirela Ivanova’s book “Square Bulgaria" was presented in "Sava Dobroplodni" Regional Library - Sliven on 10 June / Friday / 2016 at 5.30 pm. The literary event was a joint initiative of the library and "Hermes" publishing house. Mirela Ivanova was born in Sofia on 11 May 1962. She graduated in Bulgarian Philology at Plovdiv University "P.Hilendarski". She published her first poems as a student in "Native Speech" magazine / 1977 /. Since then her works are invariably presented at the Bulgarian literary scene - poetry, prose, literary criticism and journalism, movie scripts. She translated from German and writes an author’s column in "Deutsche Welle". She wrote the collections of poetry "Stone Wings" / 1985, 2004 /, "Single game" / 1990, 2000 /, "Whisper" / 1989 /, "Memory details" /1992, 2003 /, "Dismantling of Toys" / 1995 / , "Eclecticism" / 2002 /, "Our love" / 2012 /, a collection of poems and stories "Slow" / 2009 /, the book "Word by word" - with her comments for "Deutsche Welle", etc. Her works were translated into all major European languages. She is a winner of the award for modern poetry from Eastern Europe, awarded by media mogul Hubert Burda / Munich, 2002 /. In 2003 she received the National Award for Bulgarian fiction "Hr. Danov". In 2008 she was awarded by the Bavarian Ministry of Culture one-year writing scholarship in the international writers’ creative home "Villa Concordia". She is one of the founders of poetic society "Friday-13". She is a longtime curator of the house museum "Ivan Vazov" in Sofia. "Bulgaria Square" is the new book by Mirela Ivanova. It collected the most representative, provocative and profound journalistic texts written over the years for "Deutsche Welle". Instead of an epilogue at the end of the book it contains the article by Prof. Mihail Nedelchev "The poetess Mirela Ivanova as a publicist", which he defined as "sad, furious, laughing through tears free woman who takes care every week for our personal and common freedoms too". The book was published in the series "Feather" by "Hermes" Publishing house, along with the books by prof. Kalin Yanakiev, Tony Nikolov, Andrey Zahariev, Deyan Enev. The presentation was attended by the CEO of "Hermes" Publishing house Mr. Valentin Georgiev, writers, journalists, lawyers and intellectuals. |
