 „TROUBADOUR NIGHTS

AT THE FOOT OF THE BLUES STONES

A piece of sword- play was carried out for first time out of the capital Sofia at “Stefan Kirov” Sliven dramatic theatre’s chamber hall on the 10 of October. The even was organized by “Sava Dobroplodni” Regional Library in co-operation with “White glove” club at “Altera” magazine /Sofia/ and “Janet-45” publishing house

As it happened for the first time in Sliven the sword-play attracted the interest of many people. Many pupils from “Damyan Damyanov” Humanitarian high school and adult venerators of poetry attended the event. There was a club atmosphere rather than an atmosphere of a literary reading. The poets Ivanka Mogilska and Stefan Ivanov dueled with their verses. A presenter of the sword-play was the poet, the writer and the musician Petar Chukov. The sword-play was in 5 stages, entitled: „Come in class!, „Obligatory literature”, „Home reading”, „Unexcused  rhymes”, “Free poetry”. Both participants read for 3-4 minutes their rhymes, related to the topic in each stage, and then the audience voted for one of them, who they mostly liked.

After each stage, as the audience voted and the results were След всеки тур, докато публиката гласуваше и се generalized, boys from the youth Plovdiv brass-band “Takov band” played different popular ever-green melodies and kept up the mood of the audience. Stefan Ivanov was the winner in the sword-play. He was awarded a special diploma and a full set of the “Altera” magazine for 2006. Ivanka Mogilska got an encouraging prize.

The main motive for organizing the sword-play was the idea for a dialogue of the differences, getting authors and audience to know one another. It gave a chance to each of the participants to present himself to the audience and to demonstrate how different authors think in a different way and how they treat common matters and problems.
